    Cowboys released RB Ronald Jones.
That’s one way to return from a two-game suspension. After sitting out the first two weeks for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, Jones is eligible to return to an active roster but was let go by the Cowboys upon his return. The veteran running back is free to sign with any team and could catch on with another team at some point in the season. Jones rushed 17 times for 70 yards and one touchdown last season and hasn’t rushed for more than 500 yards since 2020.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team is “reading the tea leaves” when asked about the possibility of bringing back Ezekiel Elliott.
It’d be foolish to think Jones and head coach Mike McCarthy haven’t been considering a reunion with Zeke dating back to March when the team said they’d “always keep the door open” for a potential return. The suspension of Ronald Jones gives the Cowboys a legitimate excuse to consider a reunion in a more serious light, although it’s worth pointing out that Jones’ suspension is for a mere two games, and he’s far from a lock to be the RB2 behind Tony Pollard. If the Cowboys are pleased with the work Malik Davis, Rico Dowdle, and Deuce Vaughn are putting in at camp, it seems unlikely they’d jump at Zeke despite this Jones suspension.

Cowboys RB Ronald Jones has been suspended for two games for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Where do we start? Jones rushed 17 times for 70 yards and one touchdown last season with the Chiefs, with the majority of his work coming in a meaningless Week 18 game against the Raiders. Jones joined the Cowboys on a one-year, $1.23 million deal earlier this offseason and is competing for the right to play RB2 behind Tony Pollard. Jones is listed behind several players on the Cowboys’ unofficial depth chart and could face an uphill battle to make the roster with this suspension. RoJo truther and former Rotoworlder Pat Kerrane was unable to be reached for comment due to poor cell phone reception on his yacht.

Cowboys signed Ronald Jones, formerly of the Chiefs, to a one-year, $1.23 million contract.
Jones played in just six games last season, finishing with a 17/70/1 rushing line that he achieved almost entirely in Week 18 against the Raiders. At this point it’s hard to understand if he’d be behind Malik Davis in the pecking order, but he’s a clear Tony Pollard backup either way and probably only carries fantasy value as injury insurance for Pollard. Unbelievably, Jones will not turn 26 until August.

  • FA Running Back #32
Ronald Jones rushed 10 times for 45 yards and one touchdown in the Chiefs’ Week 18 win over the Raiders.
It was a big win for team dailyrojo as Jones found his way into the end zone on the first play of the second quarter, pushing the team’s lead to 11. The Chiefs would extend their lead to 24-3 by half and would coast to an easy victory in the second half. Jones remains an iffy bet for playoff contest formats, likely needing an injury to Clyde Edwards-Helaire to return value.

  • Running Back #1
Jerick McKinnon (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday.
McKinnon had operated as the team’s pass-catching back for much of the season. With Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) sidelined in Week 12, McKinnon caught three of six targets for 26 yards and ran 19 routes to 14 routes for Isiah Pacheco. If McKinnon is out for Week 13 against the Bengals, Pacheco and Ronald Jones would see a boost in snaps and touches.

Ronald Jones had four rushes for 12 yards in the Chiefs’ Week 12 win against the Rams, adding one catch for 22 yards.
Jones showed off his explosiveness on his 22-yard grab from Patrick Mahomes but played well behind Isiah Pacheco, who had 22 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown. Jones was active for the first time in 2022 because Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) is on injured reserve. If Pacheco were to go down in the next couple weeks, Andy Reid would have no choice but to deploy RoJo as his primary early-down back. Jones can be stashed in 14-team formats.

  • KC Running Back #25
Chiefs placed RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) on injured reserve.
Edwards-Helaire had been all but phased out of the KC offense before suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 11 against the Chargers. His absence of at least four weeks will being some clarity to the Chiefs backfield. Isiah Pacheco, coming off a career game against the Chargers on Sunday Night Football, will continue as the team’s primary early-down back while Jerick McKinnon functions are the main pass catchers out of the backfield. McKinnon’s role makes him a better play than Pacheco in PPR formats. CEH’s injury could force the Chiefs to make Ronald Jones active for the first time all season.

  • FA Running Back #32
Chiefs declared RB Ronald Jones, QB Shane Buechele, S Nazeeh Johnson, WR Mecole Hardman, DE Joshua Kaindoh, and OT Darian Kinnard inactive for Week 10 against the Jaguars.
Jones is the odd man out of the backfield per usual. Offering no specials teams support or value as a pass-catcher, the Cheifs have yet to make Jones active for a game. Kadarius Toney should see more snaps with Hardman ruled out earlier in the week.

  • FA Running Back #32
Chiefs declared RB Ronald Jones, TE Jody Fortson, QB Shane Buechele, S Nazeeh Johnson, DE Joshua Kaindoh, and T Darian Kinnard inactive for Week 9 against the Titans.
Ronald Jones will be inactive for the fifth consecutive week, while a hamstring injury will keep third-string tight end Jody Fortson off the field. There’s a bit of uncertainty regarding the backfield usage as the Chiefs come out of their bye, but reports suggest Isiah Pacheco will be more involved. Expect tight end Noah Gray to see additional work behind Travis Kelce.
