Giants waived/injured DE Robert Henderson (ankle).
He was their sixth-round pick this year. The Giants’ ends this season will be Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck, Dave Tollefson, and Renaldo Wynn.
  • SEA Defensive Lineman
Giants signed sixth-round DL Robert Henderson to a four-year, $1.78 million contract, including a $77,9000 signing bonus.
Henderson started 33 games at Southern Miss and finished his career with 13.5 sacks. He’ll likely need to show versatility to make the 53-man roster.
  • FA Tight End #87
Lions signed TE Dan Gronkowski, DT Terrance Taylor, CB Jahi Word-Daniels, OG Kurt Quarterman, DE Robert Henderson, WRs Michael Ray Garvin and Kole Heckendorf and DBs Jonathan Hefney and Paul Pratt to reserve/futures contracts.
Gronkowski was a seventh-round pick who spent three weeks on the active roster in December. Taylor, the Colts’ fourth-round pick last season, floated around the league before landing in Detroit.
  • SEA Defensive Lineman
Seahawks acquired DE Robert Henderson from the Lions in exchange for a 2010 seventh-round pick.
A 2008 sixth-round pick by the Giants, Henderson has yet to play in an NFL game and was never overly impressive in college. The Lions look to be getting something for nothing. He probably wasn’t going to make the team.
  • SEA Defensive Lineman
Seahawks waived DE Robert Henderson and LB Anthony Heygood.
Henderson was acquired in April in exchange for a 2010 seventh-round pick, so it’s surprising to see him cut so soon. The move opens up space for recently signed Golden Tate and Chester Pitts.
