NFL suspended free agent OT Robert Brewster one year for violating the league’s policy on drugs and banned substances.
Despite being out of the league since July, Brewster is still subject to the NFL’s drug policy. He apparently has multiple violations. The Cowboys took Brewster with the No. 75 overall pick in the 2009 draft.
  • Cowboys selected Ball State G/T Robert Brewster with the No. 75 pick in the NFL Draft.
Brewster was an all-conference tackle for three years in the MAC, but he’s expected to kick inside to guard as a pro. Brewster worked out of the spread and was rarely blocked out of a three-point stance in college, so he’ll need time to develop behind Kyle Kosier and Leonard Davis.
  • Cowboys rookie OT Robert Brewster will miss all of training camp and likely much more after tearing his pectorals muscle while lifting weights.
The injury happened in post-minicamp workouts. Brewster, the No. 75 pick overall in April, was supposed to compete for a backup job behind right tackle Marc Colombo. The Cowboys have enough depth to withstand the setback.
  • Cowboys rookie OT Robert Brewster is out for the season after tearing his pectorals muscle.
Brewster suffered the injury while working out after June minicamp. The third-rounder will return next season to compete for a backup job.
  • FA Linebacker #59
Cowboys placed rookie LB Brandon Williams on injured reserve, ending his season.
Williams, the team’s fourth-round pick, tore his ACL on August 21. He was expected to give the Cowboys depth at outside linebacker. The Cowboys also released WR Julian Hawkins and placed rookie tackle Robert Brewster on reserve/physically unable to perform.
  • Cowboys OL Robert Brewster (torn pectorals, PUP) will not play this season.
Brewster, a third-round pick out of Ball State, tore his pectorals during minicamp season. He was never being counted on for a big role, and the Cowboys’ offensive line has been one of the league’s healthiest to this point.
  • Cowboys signed rookie OT Robert Brewster to a multi-year contract.
The next transaction Brewster is a part of will likely involve injured reserve. The third-rounder tore his pectorals at minicamps and won’t play this year.
  • Cowboys transferred OL Robert Brewster (torn pectorals) to reserve/PUP, ending his season.
The Cowboys were never counting on Brewster to play this season after he tore his pecs muscle in minicamps. The 2009 third-round pick projects as a future “swing” guard/tackle, and should make the final roster in 2010.
  • Cowboys OL Robert Brewster is medically cleared and ready for OTAs after missing his rookie season with a torn pectorals muscle.
Brewster, a third-round pick in 2009, spent his first year on the PUP list after getting injured in minicamps. He projects as a right tackle or guard. Brewster’s return does not lessen the Cowboys’ need at left tackle.
  • Cowboys re-signed OT Robert Brewster to the practice squad.
Brewster passed through waivers after Dallas waived him last Friday. The 75th pick in the 2009 draft has been highly disappointing in his brief NFL career.
