Broncos declared CB Riley Moss, DL Elijah Garcia, DL Keondre Coburn, C Alex Forsyth, S JL Skinner, and OLB Thomas Incoom inactive for Week 7 against the Packers.
The leaky Denver secondary will be without Moss and Skinner against a struggling Green Bay passing offense. Meanwhile, Denver’s offensive line will face a solid Packers front seven without Forsyth.
  • DEN Defensive Back
Broncos declared DB Riley Moss, EDGE Frank Clark, S JL Skinner, C Alex Forsyth, and DE Elijah Garcia inactive for Week 2 against the Commanders.
Moss and Clark continue to be sidelined for the Broncos, while Jerry Jeudy is set to make his 2023 debut. The Broncos will look to get their first win of the season and avoid an 0-2 start in the Sean Payton era.
  • DEN Defensive Back
Broncos coach Sean Payton said CB Riley Moss underwent core muscle repair surgery and is expected to miss four weeks.
A four-week absence would still have Moss back in time for Week 1, but missing most of a camp as a rookie could hurt his playing time to open the season. Denver traded up with the Seahawks to land Moss in the third round this year. Moss was a lockdown corner for Iowa in his final two seasons and earned an impressive, 9.68 RAS at the NFL Scouting Combine.
  • DEN Defensive Back
Broncos traded up with the Seahawks to select Iowa CB Riley Moss with the No. 83 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Broncos gave Seattle a third-round pick in 2024 to move up from pick No. 108. A homegrown Iowa boy who grew up in the outskirts of Des Moines, Moss (6’1/193) was barely a blip on the FBS radar and had committed to North Dakota State until Iowa came in with a last-minute grayshirt offer. It was a prescient decision as Moss went on to become a three-year starter for one of the great college defenses of the era, and became a First-Team All-American in 2021. He has elite ball skills with 11 career interceptions, as the Hawkeyes’ team captain earned PFF overall defensive grades of 80.0+ in each of the last two seasons while holding the opposition to a career 79.1 NFL passer rating. Athletically he’s got the goods, running a 4.45s 40-yard dash (83rd%) with a 1.49s 10-yard split (97th%) and a blistering 6.60 3-Cone that is a 98th% mark for a combined 9.68 RAS. A relentless competitor, Moss rarely lets easy underneath completions go and challenges at all levels. However, he’s not particularly strong and can get manipulated by savvy receivers, leading to speculation Moss could transition to safety.
