Sanchez has previously handled kickoff duties for Indy, though Matt Gay took over that job in 2023 and will hold onto it for the upcoming season.
  • Colts P Rigoberto Sanchez suffered a torn Achilles’ in Tuesday’s practice and will miss the season.
Sanchez, the punter of all people, was running gassers at the end of practice and popped his Achilles’ tendon. The Colts’ punter for the last five seasons, Sanchez was near the bottom of the league in net average last season. He’s also the holder.

  • Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez will undergo surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.
Sanchez released a statement Monday morning saying he will “miss some time” after the surgery. Sanchez is 11th in average yards per punt and 12th in punts inside the 20 yard line. The Colts will likely work out replacement punters this week.

  • Colts signed P Rigoberto Sanchez to a four-year, $11.6 million extension.
