Eagles claimed QB Reid Sinnett off waivers from the Dolphins.
The Eagles released long snapper Rick Lovato to make room for Sinnett, leaving them with four quarterbacks on their roster and no long snapper. This likely means that one of Joe Flacco or Gardner Minshew is on the chopping block unless an unheralded move involving Jalen Hurts is on the horizon. Sinnett was brought up from Miami’s practice squad to their active roster after Tua Tagovailoa got hurt but he did not see any action. With Tagovailoa healthy, the team waived him. A UDFA out of San Diego, Sinnett will need time to develop into a backup-caliber passer.

Eagles signed LS Rick Lovato to a four-year extension through 2023.
The 27-year-old had been headed into the final year of his deal. Lovato has been handling snaps required to travel a longer distance than normal snaps in Philadelphia since 2016, picking up a Super Bowl ring in the process. He should continue to snap the ball a farther-than-normal length for years to come in Philly.
