Brown has wowed coaches all off-season, but he was battling for the third receiver spot at best. Now he can compete to be a starter. Even if he starts the year behind Greg Lewis, the former Georgia star could see his role grow. He’s worth a look in deeper leagues.

He’s picking up the complex offense quickly. ''I think what he is bringing to the table is big-play ability,’' Donavan McNabb said. ''He can turn a 6-yard route into a play that goes the distance.’' Sounds like T.O. to us. He might replace Owens as a starter if the Eagles dump T.O. next off-season.

The rookie looked very comfortable in the West Coast offense. If T.O. returns, Brown should start the year as the third receiver. If not, he becomes a bigger factor in fantasy leagues.

Brown had been hobbled by a hamstring injury.

There’s still no specific expected return date for Brown, the Eagles’ No. 1 receiver.

He suffered the minor injury Tuesday. Also likely to be out for Philadelphia’s offense: Brian Westbrook, Ryan Moats, Correll Buckhalter, Todd Pinkston, and Bruce Perry. Andy Reid may have to take some carries himself.

His calf injury proved to be very minor. Brodrick Bunkley, who just joined the team, will play. Brian Westbrook will sit out.

Not a ringing endorsement for Reggie Brown. “I think one of the things about the receivers is it seems like they’re a lot of clones -- like the same guy out there. I don’t think there’s a whole lot of difference between them,” Garcia said.

The Eagles’ No. 1 receiver remains a solid middle-round value in re-draft fantasy leagues and an excellent selection for dynasty purposes.

It was WR Donte’ Stallworth’s day, but Brown salvaged the game from a fantasy point of view with a five-yard grab for the Eagles’ second score. He’s the team’s No. 1 receiver, but it may be in label only at this point.
