Randy Hymes is hoping to stick as a starting wideout in Baltimore.
Hymes did grab five balls (for 39 yards) in three quarters of play last week, not bad. We’ll keep our eye on him, but he’s only worth considering in very deep leagues.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
As expected, the Ravens announced WR Randy Hymes will start on Sunday if Travis Taylor can’t recover.
Rookie Devard Darling will be the No. 3 receiver. We’re curious to see how Hymes looks, but he’s not a fantasy consideration.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
Ravens receiver Randy Hymes opens as the number 3 receiver.
Hymes has taken advantage of Devard Darlings’ injury and might hold this spot all year.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
If the season started tomorrow, Randy Hymes and Clarence Moore would be Baltimore’s starting receivers.
Good thing the season doesn’t start tomorrow. This outlines how thin Baltimore’s receiving corps are. Hymes is probably number one of the list, but will battle for a starting job at best in training camp.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
Ravens wide receivers Randy Hymes and Javin Hunter return to the practice field today after missing last season with injuries.
Both players, especially Hymes, had promising beginnings to their NFL careers before being seriously injured last preseason. Now they are fighting for a roster spot and playing time with third-round pick Devard Darling, Ron Johnson, Kareem Kelly and sixth-round pick Clarence Moore.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
Coach Jack Del Rio made it clear the Randy Hymes and Troy Edwards signings were to provide depth.
“We are not looking at these guys to replace Jimmy Smith,” Del Rio said. “We don’t see these guys as being our No. 1 option. We added a 10th and 11th guy. They’ll be given a chance to fight for a roster spot.” He’s smart to keep his hopes low for Hymes and Edwards, neither of whom have done much in the pros.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
Jaguars released WRs Randy Hymes, Charles Sharon and Fred Stamps, TEs Todd Yoder and Greg Estandia, Gs Derrick Fletcher and Shannon Snell, Ts Wayne Hunter and Ryan Gibbons, C Brett Romberg, DTs Anthony Maddox and Walter Curry, DEs Jim Davis and James Wyche, CBs David Richardson, Trestin George and Edorian McCullough, S Jamaal Fudge, RB Rich Alexis, and LS Andrew Economos.
T Wayne Hunter and DT Anthony Maddox are small surprises, but no big names here. RB Alvin Pearman and WR Chad Owens made the team.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
Randy Hymes will start at wide receiver, likely for the next four games, while Travis Taylor recovers from a groin injury.
Hymes still isn’t much of a fantasy option. We wouldn’t be surprised if Devard Darling, who challenged Hymes in training camp, took the starting spot eventually.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
Despite leading all Ravens receivers in receptions and yards, Randy Hymes is not guaranteed to keep his starting job long-term.
Travis Taylor is expected to return October 24th and will likely get his job back. But Hymes has proved a physical short-yardage threat who will force his way into being a starter he keeps it up. He’s someone to look at in deep points-per-receptions leagues.
  • MIN Wide Receiver
Ravens WR Randy Hymes filled in for Travis Taylor at No. 2 receiver yesterday.
After entering the offseason needing big improvement at WR, it has to be a disappointment in Baltimore to possibly be starting Hymes. If Taylor misses any time with a groin injury, we suggest you look elsewhere for another fantasy receiver.
