Giants declared TE Theo Johnson, WR Jalin Hyatt, RB Dante Miller, CB Cor’Dale Flott, OLB Caleb Murphy, DL Rakeem Nuñez-Roches and QB Russell Wilson inactive for Week 17 against the Raiders.
The Giants threw the ball 13 times in a losing effort against the Vikings last week, so even if Johnson were to play today, his target volume would be difficult to project. His absence gives No. 2 TE Daniel Bellinger a chance to operate as a full-time player, though, putting him on the touchdown-dependent TE1 radar.
  • NYG Outside Linebacker #5
Giants declared OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux, QB Russell Wilson, WR Ryan Miller P Jamie Gillan, T James Hudson III, WR Gunner Olszewski and DL Rakeem Nuñez-Roches Sr. inactive for Week 15 against the Commanders.
Thibodeaux remains out with his shoulder injury, and there’s a good chance he won’t return in 2025. Wilson will again be the emergency quarterback behind Jaxon Dart and Jameis Winston.
  • NYG Outside Linebacker #5
Giants ruled out OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux (shoulder) for Week 11 against the Packers.
Thibodeaux was visibly in pain last weekend, so his absence is unsurprising. The Giants also ruled out his backup, OLB Chauncey Golston (neck), and listed starting DT Rakeem Nunez-Roches (toe) as doubtful. Two more starters, LB Bobby Okereke (shoulder) and CB Paulson Adebo (knee) are listed as questionable. Good news for the Packers’ offense, which has been heavily scrutinized in recent weeks.
  • Rakeem Nunez-Roches (neck) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 13 against the Cowboys.
Nunez-Roches picked up a stinger in the second half, and the 31-year-old defender won’t be able to continue. It’s another loss to the defensive line in a game where the Giants have already lost Dexter Lawrence (elbow) and DJ Davidson (knee) in Week 13.
  • NYG Defensive Lineman #93
Giants signed DT Rakeem Nunez-Roches, formerly of the Bucs, to a three-year, $12 million contract.
Rakeem Nunez-Roches is the first of what will be many unrestricted free agents to flee the post-Brady Bucs. Entering his ninth NFL season, Nunez-Roches has mostly functioned as a rotational player and will likely retain the role in New York. He started ten games for the down-bad Tampa defense in 2022, recording two sacks and six tackles for loss. While it’s a three-year deal, Nunez-Roches’ contract provides an out after two years. The deal does include $7.5 million in guaranteed money.

  • NYG Defensive Lineman #93
    Bucs re-signed DT Rakeem Nunez-Roches to a two-year, $5 million contract.
The deal includes $2.25 million guaranteed. Nunez-Roches was an important part of the Bucs’ Vita Vea-less defensive line last season before Vea returned late in the year. He will be rotational 2021 depth who can start in a pinch.

  • NYG Defensive Lineman #93
    Bucs re-signed DT Rakeem Nunez-Roches.
The deal is worth “up to” $2.25 million, with $1 million guaranteed. A reserve lineman, Nunez-Roches’ 292 snaps last season were the second most of his career.
  • NYG Defensive Lineman #93
    Buccaneers re-signed DT Rakeem Nunez-Roches to a one-year contract.
Nunez-Roches appeared in three games last season, registering two tackles over 52 defensive snaps. He’s just a depth signing.
  • NYG Defensive Lineman #93
Bucs signed DT Rakeem Nunez-Roches, formerly of the Colts.
Nunez-Roches, 25, started 11 games for the Chiefs last season, playing 392 snaps. He was a surprise cut in May before getting claimed by the Colts and not making the team. Nunez-Roches takes the spot of DT Jerel Worthy.
  • NYG Defensive Lineman #93
Chiefs selected Southern Miss DL Rakeem Nunez-Roches with the No. 217 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
Nunez-Roches (6'2/307) endured an injury-plagued college career before busting out as a senior en route to 14 TFLs and three sacks as an 11-game starter. “RNR” showed NFL-quality athleticism in Indy, running 5.02 with a 34-inch vertical and pumping 26 reps on the bench. A one-gap penetrator with a relentless motor, Nunez-Roches is capable of playing both one- and three-technique, likely on a rotational basis in the NFL.
