  • FA Wide Receiver #80
Titans selected LSU WR Racey McMath with the No. 205 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
McMath played in 14 games as a reserve wideout for the 2019 LSU Tigers and scored three touchdowns for the national champs (17 receptions, 285 yards, 16.8 average). He began 2020 as a starter, recording 14 receptions, 195 yards, and a touchdown in six games before suffering a season-ending hamstring injury. McMath, 21, impressed teams with a 4.44 40-yard dash (83rd percentile) and 91st percentile speed score during his pro day. In the Titans’ thin receiver group, McMath certainly has a path to playing time as a rookie.

  • FA Wide Receiver #80
LSU redshirt senior WR Racey McMath has signed with an agent and will not return for the 2021 season.
McMath (6'3/224) missed LSU’s final four games of the 2020 season due to a hamstring injury, and before that he was a contributor on both offense and special teams. The redshirt senior wide receiver caught 14 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown this season. For his career, McMath appeared in 34 games and caught 33 passes for 522 yards and four touchdowns. McMath has accepted an invitation to play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl, and a good week in Mobile would go a long way towards ensuring that his name is called during the NFL Draft.

  • FA Wide Receiver #80
LSU redshirt junior WR Racey McMath (hamstring) will not play against Florida on Saturday.
McMath (6'3/224) has missed the past two games against Texas A&M and Alabama with the hamstring issue. The redshirt junior has registered 11 receptions for 147 yards thus far, as Instability at the quarterback position has suppressed his production relative to his preseason expectations. He recently accepted an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl, where a strong set of practices could vault the wideout into late-round NFL Draft consideration

  • FA Wide Receiver #80
LSU redshirt junior WR Racey McMath (undisclosed) will not play Saturday against Alabama.
McMath (6'3/224) had started all five games that LSU had played before sitting out last Saturday against Texas A&M. The redshirt junior has registered 11 receptions for 147 yards thus far, as Instability at the quarterback position has suppressed his production relative to his preseason expectations. He recently accepted an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl, where a strong set of practices could vault the wideout into late-round NFL Draft consideration.

  • FA Wide Receiver #80
LSU redshirt junior WR Racey McMath (undisclosed) is doubtful to play against Texas A&M on Saturday.
McMath (6'3/224) has started all five games that LSU has played, catching 11 passes for 147 yards. Instability at the quarterback position has suppressed his production, even so he has underperformed relative to his preseason expectations. He recently accepted an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl, where a strong set of practices could vault the redshirt junior wideout into late-round NFL Draft consideration.

  • FA Wide Receiver #80
LSU redshirt junior WR Racey McMath accepted an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
While Terrace Marshall is the headliner at wide receiver for the Tigers, McMath (6'3/224) is a solid target in his own right. The redshirt junior wideout has started all five games that LSU has played, catching 11 passes for 147 yards. The statistics may not be great, but McMath has the size and speed that NFL types are looking for in a wide receiver. And it’s also worth noting that LSU has been anything but stable at the quarterback position, which does a wideout with ambitions of playing at the next level no favors. Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline gives McMath a UDFA grade, and the Senior Bowl will give him the opportunity to show that he deserves to be hear his name called in April.

  • NE Wide Receiver #9
LSU freshman WR Kayshon Boutte is one of the team’s three starters at wide receiver according to HC ED Orgeron.
While Terrace Marshall returning gives the reigning national champions an experienced option to rely on at wide receiver, the departures of Justin Jefferson (NFL) and Ja’Marr Chase (opted out) leave two gaping holes to fill. Boutte (6'0/185) is on track to fill one of the spots, with senior Racey McMath being the other. While Boutte has yet to appear in a college game he was considered to be one of the top wide receiver prospects in the Class of 2020, so the talent is there. He, McMath, Marshall and TE Arik Gilbert will need to be at their best this season as LSU is also breaking in a new starting quarterback in Myles Brennan.

  • FA Wide Receiver #80
LSU redshirt sophomore WR Racey McMath is suspended for the first half of Saturday’s contest against Utah State.
McMath (6'3/221) was called for targeting -- the rare offensive targeting flag -- during the second half of LSU’s win over Vanderbilt on Sept. 21. The Tigers were off on bye in Week 5, hence why the redshirt sophomore’s first-half suspension is only just being implemented this weekend. The former three-star recruit has caught six passes for 53 yards and a touchdown through the first month of the season.
  • FA Wide Receiver #80
LSU received a verbal commitment from three-star 2017 WR Racey McMath.
Fingers crossed on McMath’s behalf that LSU will actually allow their wideouts to spread their wings under new OC Matt Canada. While McMath is a consensus three-star wideout, the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder is not lacking physical tools. In addition to his college-ready frame, McMath is also a speed merchant, having clocked a 40-yard dash time of 4.40 seconds at LSU’s prospect camp in June. “It’s easy for me to get open,” he told SEC Country. “I’m already a big target, so for me to create separation and be a big target, it’s easy for me to catch the ball, and it’s easy for quarterbacks.” He admitted that his routes are unpolished right now, something he would like to smooth over in the coming months. We appreciate the self-crafted scouting report, Mr. McMath.
