Rams CB Ron Bartell suffered a mild concussion against the Jaguars in Week 6 and his status is unknown.
Bartell is set to undergo tests on Tuesday to help set a timetable for his return. He was replaced by Quincy Butler on Sunday.
  • DAL Running Back
Cowboys released FB Ronnie Cruz, CB Quincy Butler, QB Jeff Terrell, P Jay Ottovegio, and WR Daniel Polk.
Cruz got an injury settlement. Butler was seventh on the depth chart at corner at best. Terrell was fourth at QB. The others were undrafted.
  • NO Defensive Back
Quincy Butler is the leading candidate to step into Bradley Fletcher’s (knee) starting cornerback job.
Nickel back Justin King has been limited this week with a groin injury. Butler, claimed off waivers from the Cowboys last December, has mainly been a special teamer. Upgrade Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson this week, assuming they start.
  • LV Coaching Staff #89
Rams WR/PR/KR Danny Amendola left Sunday’s win over the Lions in the fourth quarter with a concussion and did not return.
Amendola, who was acting as the No. 3 receiver, took a big hit from Lions LB Zach Follett while returning kick. Newly acquired WR Brandon Gibson took over for Amendola in three-wide sets while CB Quincy Butler replaced him on punt returns. Amendola has the bye week to recover.
  • NO Defensive Back
Quincy Butler sprained his left knee in Sunday’s loss to the Texans.
Butler also has a high ankle sprain on his left leg, making him a candidate for injured reserve.
  • NO Defensive Back
Rams CB Quincy Butler left Sunday’s game in the first quarter with a left knee injury.
His return is questionable. Butler has played far too much in a St. Louis defensive backfield this year that only has two mediocre-to-good players in Ron Bartell and O.J. Atogwe. Butler’s seen a lot of first-team snaps.
  • NO Defensive Back
Cowboys signed DB Quincy Butler off the Saints practice squad.
Cornerback Anthony Henry is struggling with a bruised thigh, so the Cowboys are looking for increased depth in the secondary.
  • NO Defensive Back
Rams re-signed exclusive rights free agent CB Quincy Butler to a one-year, $470,000 contract.
Butler would struggle to make most teams’ rosters as more than a special teamer, but he was a major contributor for the lowly Rams on defense last year, recording 28 tackles and breaking up five passes. In camp, Butler will battle Kevin Dockery for nickel duties behind Ron Bartell and Bradley Fletcher.
  • LAR Running Back
The Rams have extended exclusive rights free agent tenders to RB Kenneth Darby, CB Quincy Butler, LB David Vobora, and LB Larry Grant.
Vobora finished 2009 as St. Louis’ starting SAM linebacker, playing well despite his unheralded status. Darby has proven no better than a No. 3 tailback in the pros. The club is high on Butler as a possible nickel back.
  • NO Defensive Back
    Cowboys waived CB Quincy Butler.
He has practice squad eligibility remaining.
