Xavier Worthy has a sprained shoulder, is expected back at practice this week

The Chiefs dodged a pair of bullets when it came to wide receiver injuries on Sunday.

Rookie Cyrus Allen and veteran Xavier Worthy both left practice after getting hurt, but neither one is expected to be out long. Word on Sunday was that Allen suffered a shin bruise and head coach Andy Reid told reporters on Monday that Worthy has a shoulder sprain.

Worthy’s sprain is minor enough that Reid said the wideout is expected to practice later this week. Reid also confirmed that Allen is looking at a similar timeline for his own return to action.

While the Chiefs would prefer to have no injury issues with any of their wideouts as Patrick Mahomes returns from a torn ACL, they’ll take this double dose of good news as the next best thing.
