Woman Pleads Not Guilty To Killing Former Chicago Bears Safety’s Girlfriend

A woman described as “jealous” by Chicago prosecutors pleaded not guilty today to allegedly murdering the pregnant girlfriend of former Chicago Bears Pro Bowl safety Shaun Gayle. Marni Yang, 41, was indicted last month on charges of first-degree murder and intentional homicide of an unborn child following the 2007 shooting death of Rhoni Reuter, Gayle’s girlfriend. According to prosecutors, Yang was jealous of Reuter and her relationship with the former NFL player. Yang’s lawyer, Jeffrey Lerner, stated that Lang has said she’s innocent of the charges and will “vigorously defend herself.”
