For the last home game of one of the worst seasons in Giants’ history, owner John Mara was able to look to the skies without fear of further indignity.
Via Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post, orders for three planes carrying Giants-related banners were canceled due to the weather conditions.
FAA regulations prohibit banner planes when the cloud ceiling is below 800 feet.
One of the planes, via NJ.com, would have said this: “Mr. Mara — enough. . . Clean house or sell the team.” Another would have said, “Are drones searching for Giants wins at home?”
Planes had flown prior to both of the prior two Giants home games. It was the first time since 1978 that a fan had paid for a plane with a message to ownership.
In the franchise’s 100th season, the Giants have set a team record with 10 straight losses. With one more loss, the 2024 Giants will set a single-season record for futility.
