Travis Kelce on ejection: I felt like an idiot

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was ejected from Sunday’s game against the Jaguars in the fourth quarter after he received a pair of unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in short order.

Kelce got the first for taking issue with an official’s decision not to call a pass interference penalty on a throw to Kelce in the Jacksonville end zone. After the official threw his flag, Kelce responded by throwing the camouflage towel he wore as part of his uniform. The official then threw his cap to denote a second penalty and Kelce’s day was done after the amusing exchange of tosses.

“As soon as the ref took off his hat, I knew I was out. Felt like an idiot,’' Kelce said, via ESPN.com. “It was a terrible decision, but just have to learn from it and keep going.”

Kelce shared one of the lessons he learned.

“I can’t throw my flag on the ref but he can throw his all day long,” Kelce said.

The penalties pushed the Chiefs back 30 yards, but they were able to salvage a field goal out of the drive and held on for a 19-14 win despite Kelce’s absence.
