Travis Kelce fined for actions toward officials

Jacksonville Jaguars v Kansas City Chiefs

KANSAS CITY, MO - NOVEMBER 6: Tight end Travis Kelce #87 of the Kansas City Chiefs gets ejected from the game by the field judge after arguing a non call for pass interference against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the end zone at Arrowhead Stadium during the fourth quarter of the game on November 6, 2016 in Kansas City, Missouri. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce said he felt like an idiot when he screamed at officials, threw a towel in their direction, and got ejected. Now he’s going to feel a little poorer.

Kelce was fined $24,309 for unsportsmanlike conduct.

During Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, Kelce felt that he was interfered with on a pass in the end zone. When he didn’t see a flag, he screamed at one official. When that official didn’t pay him any mind, he screamed at another official. As Kelce started walking away, the second official threw a flag, which sent Kelce into a rage, screaming more and throwing a towel.

That got Kelce ejected automatically under the NFL’s rule forcing a player who commits two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties out of a game. It also cost the Chiefs 30 yards. And now it has cost Kelce some significant money.
