Tony Romo promises Super Bowl “at some point”

Overanalyzing Tony Romo is the No. 1 recreational sport in the Dallas metroplex.

Deion Sanders has been one of Romo’s biggest critics lately, and word has gotten to the Cowboys quarterback.

“Every once in a while you definitely hear things,” Romo said via Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “That’s not something you search out. Deion is welcomed to his own opinion about stuff. Deion is Deion. He is what he is. We’re going to go out here and we’re going to play good football.”

And then came the pull quote everyone is going to analyze in Dallas for the next 24 hours:

“This team is going to win a Super Bowl at some point. It’s going to be exciting when that time comes. And when we look back, we’ll know who was on what side of the fence during those tough moments. That’s exciting for us as competitors knowing that we get a chance to go out there and have a chance to win,” Romo said.

We like the confidence. Perhaps when the Cowboys win that Super Bowl “at some point,” we’ll look back on October 13, 2001 2011 as the day where Romo took charge.

Or perhaps we’ll completely forget about what he said in another 24 hours when there is fresh Romonews to analyze.
