Kansas City’s embarrassing 31-3 loss to the Dolphins will not get in the way of Todd Haley’s mangy beard.
His lucky beard, which started to grow after Kansas City’s loss to the Chargers, sparked a four-game winning streak.
“My grooming habits have nothing to do with the performance of our team,” Haley said with a smile via Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star. “That’s my own obsession, compulsive disorder, whatever they call it. You don’t get to see me when I’m picking up pennies and how I do it and what pocket I put them in.”
The Chiefs’ performance against Miami was one of the most humiliating we’ve seen all year. It’s not like the Dolphins did anything tricky. They simply destroyed Kansas City in every facet.
Haley responded by giving his team a few days off this week in order to get fresh after two games in six days. The beard, however, will stay.
Perhaps he could inspire a new blog: Instead of Hipsterorhomeless.com, it could be Haleyorhomeless.com.
