Titans Unveil New Logo

Celebrating their 50th anniversary, the Tennessee Titans have rolled out a commemorative logo for their uniforms and memorabilia, the Nashville City Paper reports. Per the article, the logo design combines different touches of the franchise’s early years as the Houston Oilers in the AFL as well as the current team logo that was unveiled in 1999. “We wanted to incorporate both franchise logos into our 50-year logo and I am really pleased with the results,” Titans owner Bud Adams said in a statement. “The past 49 seasons have brought the fans and me great joy and at times great pain, but it has been a dream come true and a lot of hard work to own a team.” The Titans will reportedly wear their throwback uniforms in the Hall of Fame game against the Buffalo Bills, possibly in a home game against the San Diego Chargers and in a road game against the New York Jets. The Jets are scheduled to wear replicas of the old New York Titans’ threads.
