The Tennessee Titans have struck a deal with return specialist Mark Jones, a former University of Tennessee player, according to Terry McCormick of the Nashville City Paper. Jones, 28, averaged 24 yards per kickoff return and 11.4 yards per punt return last season for the Carolina Panthers. Last season, Jones established two career-highs with a 59-yard kickoff return and a 55-yard punt return. The former seventh-round draft pick has prior stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New York Giants. His career average on kickoff returns is 24.2 yards. On punt returns, he has averaged 9.4 yards. Signing Jones fills the void created when returner Chris Carr signed with the Baltimore Ravens.
