Veteran special teams coach Bobby April is out in Tennessee.
Titans coach Mike Mularkey announced today that he has fired April, four games into a season in which the special teams have suffered mightily. In Sunday’s loss to the Texans, the Titans’ special teams allowed Texans punt returner Will Fuller to score a 67-yard touchdown.
April is in his first year with the Titans but has many years of coaching experience. He has previously been a special teams coach for the Jets, Raiders, Eagles, Bills, Rams, Saints, Steelers and Falcons.
The Titans will replace April with special teams assistant Steve Hoffman.
