Thomas Golisano emerges as potential Bills buyer

Golisano

Without identifying a potential buyer, the Associated Press has reported that the Bills could be sold by July. Without identifying a potential timetable for the transaction, the Buffalo News reports that the Bills could be sold to B. Thomas Golisano.

According to Robert J. McCarthy of the Buffalo News, Golisano dined on Thursday night with Bills CEO Russ Brandon. Larry Quinn, who served as managing partner of the Buffalo Sabres when Golisano owned the local NHL franchise, also attended.

Golisano reportedly has expressed “serious interest” in buying the team.

While the formal bidding process hasn’t begun, potential purchasers surely had been planning for the possibility of pursuing the team. It had been known for years that, upon the passing of owner Ralph Wilson, Jr. (who died in March at the age of 95), the team would be sold.

So while some potential buyers have been talking about how they may buy the team, others apparently have been laying the foundation to, you know, buy the team.
