The Texans won’t have tight end Cade Stover in the lineup against the Dolphins on Sunday.
Stover had an emergency appendectomy on Saturday night and will not play as a result. Stover will continue to recover and it is unclear when he will be able to return to action.
Stover was a fourth-round pick this year and he has appeared in all 13 games for the Texans this season. He has started eight of those games and he has 14 catches for 132 yards and a touchdown.
The Texans elevated Irv Smith from the practice squad on Saturday. He joins Dalton Schultz as their available tight ends on Sunday.
