Running back Dylan Sampson is on his way to the NFL.
Sampson announced his intention to join the professional ranks in an Instagram post on Friday. Sampson’s final college game was Tennessee’s loss to Ohio State in the college football playoffs.
Sampson was named the SEC offensive player of the year after running 258 times for 1,491 yards and 22 touchdowns for the Volunteers this season. He was ninth in the country in rushing yards and tied for fourth in rushing touchdowns.
Ashton Jeanty, Omarion Hampton, Kaleb Johnson, Quinshon Judkins, TreVeyon Henderson, and Jordan James are among the other top running back prospects that NFL teams will be looking at heading into April.
