Teddy Bridgewater returns to the Lions

Teddy Bridgewater is back.

Not long after saying that he planned to return to the NFL following his successful pursuit of a state championship in his first year as a high-school football coach, Bridgewater is returning to the Lions, according to NFL Network.

A first-round pick of the Vikings in 2014, Bridgewater spent last season in Detroit. He’ll now re-join the Lions as they battle with the Vikings for the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Bridgewater, 32, presumably will join the practice squad, with Jake Fromm likely getting the short straw.

The Lions have Jared Goff as the starter, with Hendon Hooker serving at the No. 2. Goff is clearly the guy.

Regardless, Bridgewater now gets a chance to win his first Super Bowl ring. And it could happen in the same season he won his first state championship as a coach.
