Former Ravens linebacker Tavares Gooden quickly found a new job.
The 49ers signed Gooden on Tuesday, while releasing Antwan Applewhite. Gooden started 12 games in 2009 in Baltimore, but fell out of favor quickly.
It’s unclear if Gooden will play inside or out. If Gooden is inside, the team has only three outside linebackers.
It looks like first-round pick Aldon Smith was held off for now as a starter by Parys Haralson. Ahmad Brooks has the other starting job; Smith will be a situational pass rusher.
