It was only a few days ago that Takeo Spikes was on ESPN talking about the lockout as the 49ers players representative.

It will turn out to be the final thing Spikes did for the organization.

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that Spikes has agreed to terms with the Chargers. He fills a big need at inside linebacker; we’ll have to see if the team is still interested in bringing Kevin Burnett back.

Earlier this week, the annually underrated Trey Wingo of ESPN revealed on air that linebacker Takeo Spikes had a size 20 neck. That took a lot of guts, because Spikes was sitting right next to him. Wingo has not been seen since.

The Chargers were busy Tuesday, also agreeing to a four-year, $20 million contract with Jeromy Clary according to Acee. The right tackle will make $8.5 million in 2011 pay. That’s one way to get to the salary cap floor.
