As it turns out, Mitch Berger will be able to continue to store his Snickers bars in his punting shoes. (Yes, that one goes way back.)
With punter Daniel Sepulveda out for the year with the third torn ACL in his right non-punting knee, the Steelers have placed Sepulveda on injured reserve, and they’ll replace him with Jeremy Kapinos. Two years ago, when Sepulveda tore an ACL, Berger punted his way to a Super Bowl ring.
Kapinos spent one game with the Jets in 2007, four with the Packers in 2008, all 16 with the Packers in 2009, and one for the Colts in 2010.
His cameo with the Colts occurred during Pat McAfee’s one-game team-imposed suspension for allegedly drunken swimming.
If Kapinos chooses to do the same thing in Pittsburgh, he’ll have three rivers from which to choose.
