The Titans haven’t had running back Shonn Greene in the offseason program this year as Greene opted not to take part in voluntary workouts so that he could spend time with his newborn son.

The Titans will be doing their first mandatory work of the offseason this week when they report for minicamp and it looks like Greene will be there. Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that Greene “currently plans” to be in attendance on Tuesday.

Greene would have been subject to fines had he failed to appear for the minicamp, so it’s not surprising that he’d choose to take part in the practices. His presence may not do much more to help his chances of making the team than his absences in the spring did, however.

With Bishop Sankey and 2015 fifth-rounder David Cobb in the backfield, the Titans have options beyond turning back to Greene for a third year after watching him run for 687 yards on 171 carries in his first two years with the club. Greene isn’t a pass catching option out of the backfield either and he’s set to make $3.25 million, which should only make it harder for him to convince the team to keep him on board for 2015.
