The draft is only a week away, and former Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson will be there. And at some point, Lawson will begin to get antsy if he’s not picked.
“I’ll probably start getting nervous probably after 15,” Lawson said on Thursday’s PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio. “Hopefully, I go in the top 10, possibly top five you never know what happens. Still to this day you don’t know what’s gonna happen until you actually hear your name called. I’m just going to enjoy the moment. I’m still going to be nervous but I’m still going to enjoy the moment. You’re always going to see a smile on my face. I’m a guy that smiles every day. I always keep a bright smile because I’m just blessed to have an opportunity to play at the next level.”
Teams to watch include three teams Lawson has visited: The Cowboys, Bears, and Panthers.
“I met with 22 teams at the Combine,” Lawson added. “A lot of teams love me, they love my story, they loved how passionate I was about the game and why I did it. Why I stayed at home, stayed at Clemson for a reason, to make sure I take care of my younger brothers and sisters. When I get drafted they’re all going to go with me and that’s because I’ve just been a big brother, been a father figure after my dad got killed in a car accident.”
The full interview with Lawson can be seen and heard below. Where and when he’s drafted will be seen and heard next Thursday night.
