The Seahawks released defensive tackle Travian Robertson before finishing the regular season with a victory over the Rams, but they didn’t fill the 53rd spot on their roster for that game or for the bye week they earned by finishing as the top seed in the NFC.
With their game against the Panthers now set for Saturday night, the Seahawks decided to go ahead and round out the roster. They announced that they have signed defensive tackle Landon Cohen.
Cohen has bounced around the league since the Lions made him a seventh-round pick in 2008, including a short stint with the Seahawks in 2011. He’s played in 40 games during his travels, including 13 for the Bears in 2013.
Cohen’s arrival gives the Seahawks a bit more insurance against any problems that may arise as a result of the knee injury that Jordan Hill suffered against the Rams, although they have enough depth that their plans for Saturday may not include Cohen even if Hill isn’t able to play.
