Despite a largely inexperienced group at tight end, the Seattle Seahawks elected to release one of the few players with NFL experience at the position on their roster on Tuesday.
Seattle released Michael Palmer following the conclusion of Tuesday’s practice.
Palmer played the last three years with the Atlanta Falcons and appeared in 43 games with the team with five starts. With Zach Miller beginning training camp on the physically unable to perform list with a foot injury, Palmer and second-year player Sean McGrath were the only tight ends with game experience on Seattle’s roster.
Miller is expected back at practice within the next week or so for Seattle. Palmer had missed several days of practice with a sore groin before returning to practice on Monday.
Seattle signed defensive tackle Martin Parker to take Palmer’s place on the roster.
