The Seahawks have added a third quarterback to the roster.
According to the NFL’s daily personnel notice, Seattle promoted second-year pro B.J. Daniels from the practice squad on Monday.
Daniels (5-11, 227) will back up Russell Wilson and top reserve Tarvaris Jackson. He spent the 2014 regular season and the first postseason game on Seattle’s practice squad. Daniels was a seventh-round pick of the 49ers in 2013.
Daniels fills the roster spot of wide receiver Paul Richardson, who was placed on injured reserve on Monday. Richardson suffered an ACL tear in Saturday’s victory vs. Carolina.
With Richardson out for the season, the Seahawks have six wideouts on the roster: Jermaine Kearse, Doug Baldwin, Ricardo Lockette, Bryan Walters, Kevin Norwood and Chris Matthews.
To replace Daniels on the practice squad, the Seahawks re-signed linebacker Mike Zimmer.
