There’s finally, officially, a new general manager in Washington.

Scot McCloughan has been formally introduced as the team’s new G.M. after two days of reports that he and the team were close to an agreement.

McCloughan has spent 20 years as a scout or team executive with the Packers, Seahawks and 49ers.

He’ll have a big task ahead of him: Washington is coming off a 4-12 season and does not have a particularly talent-laden roster. Up first will be determining what to do at the quarterback position after playing musical chairs with Robert Griffin III, Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy last season did not produce good results.

In fact, not much of anything in Washington has produced good results on the field lately. McCloughan’s job is to change that.
