The Saints have signed veteran wideout Greg Camarillo, according to a cut-out-the-middle-man blog by his agent.

Camarillo has played six years in the league, bouncing through Minnesota, Miami and San Diego. He has 142 career receptios for 1,686 yards and five touchdowns.

The Saints are also placing linebacker Chris Chamberlain (knee) and offensive lineman Fenuki Tupou (triceps) on injured reserve, according to Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. They also have a group of receivers with some injuries, leaving them thin in practice.

Camarillo will walk in the door familiar with a few things, as he spent part of the offseason working out in San Diego with Saints quarterback Drew Brees. Whether that’s enough to earn him a roster spot remains to be seen.
