Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis is having a press conference right now.

We’re not sure why.

Loomis is refusing to answer some point-blank questions about many topics, primarily the constitution of his coaching staff.

Asked point blank several times if they planned to retain defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, Loomis refused to provide a straight answer.

When we’re ready to make announcements, we’ll do that,” he said, via Evan Woodbery of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Loomis also refused to confirm reports that three other assistant coaches were fired last week, even though one of them has already issued a statement saying goodbye.

When asked if personnel man Ryan Pace was going to interview for any G.M. jobs of his own, Loomis said it was a better question for Pace, and added that he knew the answer but wasn’t going to say.

He did say the Saints liked going to training camp in West Virginia last year, and wanted to go back.

Maybe when he gets there next summer, Florio can slide over, and actually get some answers.
