The Saints’ offense was miserable in the first half against the Commanders, so they made a change at quarterback.
Jake Haener, who started the game, was benched at halftime and replaced by Spencer Rattler.
The Saints’ offense looked better with Rattler, and scored a touchdown on the first drive of the second half on a trick play on which Cedric Wilson hit Alvin Kamara for a touchdown. Kamara made a great play to grab the ball, get his feet down in bounds and get into the end zone.
The Commanders now lead 17-7.
