The Saints and Buccaneers started play on Sunday amid stormy weather conditions and the threat of lightning became too great for the game to continue less than five minutes into the first quarter.

Play was suspended and the players retreated to the locker room while fans filed out of the Raymond James Stadium stands. The delay has stretched for an hour while everyone waits for the weather to clear so play can be resumed safely, but players are starting to return to the field so things should be picking up before too much longer.

The Saints took a 3-0 lead on a Garrett Hartley field goal on their first drive of the game. Play was suspended just after the ensuing kickoff, so it will be Buccaneers ball once we’re back underway in Tampa.
