Placekicker Ryan Longwell will retire with the Packers, the club said on Monday.

Longwell, 38, had a brief stint with Seattle in 2012, hitting four extra points in the divisional-round loss at Atlanta after Steven Hauschka suffered a calf injury.

Longwell connected on 361-of-434 field goals (83.2 percent) in his NFL career, which began as an undrafted free agent with San Francisco in 1997. After the 49ers waived him, he landed with the Packers, and he would go on to be their kicker for the next nine seasons, scoring more points than any other player (1,054) in franchise history.

From 2006 through 2011, Longwell kicked for the Vikings, connecting on better than 83 percent of his field goals in 5-of-6 seasons with the club.
