Texans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick departed Sunday’s game at Indianapolis after suffering a left leg injury in the second quarter.
Fitzpatrick sustained the injury when he was tripped up by Colts outside linebacker Jonathan Newsome, with the quarterback running into the defender’s extended leg. Fitzpatrick got up initially, then sat down, and he was carted off.
According to CBS, an air cast has been put on Fitzpatrick’s leg.
Rookie Tom Savage relieved Fitzpatrick, who returned to the lineup when Ryan Mallett suffered a season-ending injury.
