Russell Wilson, on contract: I’ve “been moved around before”

Quarterback Russell Wilson has been accused to subtweeting the Seahawks in regards to his ongoing contract talks.

Monday, a question about his status from a pair of Raleigh, N.C. radio hosts led to a discussion about the way he’s moved before.

Appearing on “The Adam and Joe Show” on 99.9 The Fan, Wilson left a trail of crumbs from his transfer from N.C. State to Wisconsin to current events which could easily be interpreted a certain way.

“At the end of the day I trust the process,” Wilson said. “I know God’s going to take me and put me where he wants to have me. I hope that’s Seattle. I love it there, it’s a great place. But I’ve also gone through the ups and downs and been moved around before. I loved N.C. State and loved playing there and then having to go somewhere else and start new.

“I ultimately, I know mentally and physically and spiritually I’m prepared for whatever. Every day I’m going to go to work. I’m not the kind of person that’s going to hold out or do any of that, because I want to be the best player I can be. I want to try to improve on the field.”

As for the talks themselves, Wilson referred to them as “a blessing” and that he was “thankful to be in this position.”

He also circled back to say “hopefully works out with the Seattle Seahawks, . . . it’ll all work out how it’s supposed to.”

Until this contract is done, there will be loads of speculation about his intent. And because Wilson tends to speak in aphorisms, it’s hard to gauge if it was meant as a sign or not.

But bringing up the fact he’s transferred before could also suggest he’s willing to consider it again.
