Though Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger won’t miss any playing time as a result of the Ngata-induced rearrangement of Ben’s face, which wasn’t flagged but surely will be fined, Roethlisberger needs a rhinoplasty, or something like it.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Roethlisberger will have surgery Monday to repair the nose, which was indeed broken.

Amazingly, the Steelers did not characterize the nose as being broken during the game, which makes us wonder whether they were trying to stay as far away as possible from anything that remotely could be construed as a concussion, since a concussion diagnosis would have knocked Roethlisberger out of the game.

On an unrelated note, we’re awaiting the official setting of odds as to the over-under date on which he’ll claim that the injury could have been fatal.
