Roethlisberger bodyguard will twist in the wind for months

A month after reports first surfaced that Ben Roethlisberger bodyguard Anthony Barravecchio could soon be losing his job as a police officer in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, a new report says it will be a few more months before Barravecchio knows his fate.

Coraopolis solicitor Richard Start says he has finished reviewing the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s 500-page file on the night Roethlisberger was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Milledgeville, but that he needs to continue investigating what Barravecchio did that night.

I spoke without having read the file,” Start said, apparently referring to the earlier indications that Barravecchio could be fired soon. “Once I read the file, the time parameters I spoke of were not realistic.”

Now Barravecchio won’t know for “months as opposed to weeks” if he’s going to be fired as a police officer, Start says.

Although witnesses said Barravecchio escorted the woman who later accused Roethlisberger of rape into a restroom, Barravecchio’s attorney denies that.
