Robert Saleh: Mekhi Becton’s working through ankle injury, trying to go Friday

Jets left tackle Mekhi Becton went for an MRI on his ankle after getting hurt in Buffalo on Sunday and head coach Robert Saleh said that the results have not ruled him out of Friday’s game against the Dolphins.

A report from Jeremy Fowler of ESPN indicated Becton is set to miss a week or two with a sprain, but Saleh said that no determinations have been made and that Becton will participate in the team’s walkthrough on Tuesday.

“I know what the report said earlier. He’s trying to go for Friday. He’s working through it, he’s taped up, he’ll be part of practice today,” Saleh said at a press conference.

Rookie Carter Warren replaced Becton against the Bills and the team will field its eighth different starting offensive line if he’s in the lineup in place of Becton on Friday.
