Few regard retired Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch as definitely retired because, with Lynch, there’s never anything definite. Former teammate Richard Sherman is among those who see Lynch as potentially not done with football.
“I don’t put anything past him,” Sherman said at Michael Robinson’s youth football camp in Virginia on Saturday, via NFL.com. “He’s about as predictive as a pair of dice. So I don’t try to call his plays.”
Sherman then expressed hope that Lynch will return for another season with the Seahawks. However, it’s likely that, if he returns, Lynch won’t be playing for the Seahawks.
With Thomas Rawls and Christine Michael under contract and three draft picks devoted to the running back position, the Seahawks would be inclined to either trade or cut Lynch and his $9 million salary for 2016. So if he returns, Lynch probably will be playing elsewhere -- and the most likely elsewhere could be his hometown of Oakland.
