Rex Ryan thinks Kellen Moore is better than he looks

Cowboys quarterback Kellen Moore will get the first start of his career on Sunday against the Bills, and Bills coach Rex Ryan knows what to expect.

Moore played for the Lions in August in a preseason game against the Bills, and Ryan said Moore plays better than he looks. In fact, Ryan recalled that Moore “torched us” in that game, in which Moore completed 16 of 22 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown.

“Well, first thing that jumps out at you, he’s a little bitty dude. You’re expecting these big, 6-5 dudes and here’s a guy that’s 6-foot. Then he’s throwing with the wrong hand,” Ryan said, via the Star-Telegram. “But he’s accurate. He’s poised. And obviously the numbers he put up in college speak to that as well. He’s a smart guy. That’s kind of what jumps out at you.”

Opposing quarterbacks have been putting up big numbers against Ryan’s defense this year. Ryan has to hope that Moore doesn’t look as good against that defense in the regular season as he did in the preseason.
