Reshad Jones won’t go to Pro Bowl as alternate, unless he does

Among the class of Pro Bowl “snubs” who will probably get their just reward as other players drop out, Dolphins safey Reshad Jones has done something unprecedented.

During a 10-minute span of talking to reporters Wednesday, Jones said he would not attend the Pro Bowl if invited as an alternate, so offended he was at not being chosen.

But via Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post, Jones’ stance softened as he talked, eventually conceding that he might attend the all-star game after he cooled off.

His position on this is admirable, as it gives him a chance to let the white-hot flame of righteous indignation burn for a few gratifying moments, before the reality of a free trip to Hawaii kicks in. It’s the very best kind of martyrdom that way.
