We suppose at this point that we can go back to last year’s stories regarding Brett Favre’s will-he-or-won’t-he stance regarding whether to have surgery on a partially ruptured biceps tendon and replace the phrase “partially ruptured biceps tendon” with “ankle.”
According to Charley Walter of the St. Paul Pionner Press, whose “Don’t Print That” feature is received by many readers with the mantra, “Won’t Read That,” Favre won’t be having the ankle surgery that he reportedly needs (unless, of course, he doesn’t) in order to play football for a 20th season.
Walters calls his report merely a “hot rumor,” one that had not made its way to our mongering ears. Either way, we’re operating under the assumption that Favre will play in 2010. And we won’t believe that he’s not playing until he doesn’t show up and play.
