Ron Rivera’s interview with the Jets is scheduled for Thursday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.
Rivera will become the first coach the Jets have interviewed for their vacant position. Rex Ryan said Monday that he expects to speak with the Jets after the regular season.
The Jets already have interviewed several General Manager candidates since firing Joe Douglas. They fired head coach Robert Saleh five games into the season.
Rivera did not coach in 2024 after Washington fired him in January.
He was 26-40-1 with the Commanders and lost his only postseason game with the team. He was 76-63-1 during a run with the Panthers that featured a trip to Super Bowl 50 and ended with his firing 13 weeks into the 2019 season.
