Another name has emerged as a candidate to become the next head coach of the Oakland Raiders.
According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, the Raiders have requested permission from the Indianapolis Colts to interview offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton.
Hamilton has spent the past two years as the offensive coordinator of the Colts, joining the franchise after Andrew Luck’s rookie season with the team. Hamilton served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Luck at Stanford University in 2011.
Hamilton has twice worked in the Bay Area during his coaching career, serving as a receivers coach and offensive coordinator at Stanford from 2010-12 and as quarterbacks coach for the San Francisco 49ers under head coach Mike Nolan in 2006.
The Raiders have also expressed interest in interim coach Tony Sparano remaining head coach, as well as Arizona’s Todd Bowles, Philadelphia’s Pat Shurmur and Eric Mangini.
